<p>Bangkok Airways was established by Mr. Prasert Prasarttong-Osoth who set up the airline business in 1968 as a department in a company, own by him, named Krungthep Sahakol Company Limited. In 1984, he founded Sahakol Air to take over airline business which Krungthep Sahakol had been operating from the beginning. The name of the airline was later changed to &ldquo;Bangkok Airways&rdquo;.&nbsp;</p>

<p>In 1986, Bangkok Airways commenced operation of scheduled flight services, inaugurated on 20 January 1986 on routes Bangkok &ndash; Nakhon Ratchasima, Bangkok &ndash; Surin and Bangkok &ndash; Krabi, utilizing 18-seat BANDEIRANTE EMB-110 aircraft. In 1989, the Company built its first airport, located at Koh Samui which was being developed into an international tourist destination. Operation at Samui Airport started when Bangkok Airways obtained an International Air Transport Association (IATA) code &ldquo;PG&rdquo; and was granted permission to operate flights on route Bangkok &ndash; Koh Samui.&nbsp; In 1992, a 107-seat Fokker &ndash; 100 jet aircraft was introduced into the fleet.&nbsp; Two years later, on joining IATA Clearing House, the fleet expanded with two additional ATR72 aircraft.</p>

<p>Sukhothai Airport was the second airport project that began in 1998. Many initiatives were added in 2000 from efforts to enhance flight performance by taking delivery of the first Boeing 717-200 aircraft with higher speed and seat capacity; to start aircraft maintenance service on completion of construction of the hanger at Don Muang Airport; to join IATA Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP).&nbsp; Being a member of IATA BSP allowed the company to expand sales base and provided direct access to IATA distribution network. In 2002 the Company upgraded its safety standard, past IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) and was certified as IATA full membership. In 2006, Trat Airport, the Company&rsquo;s third airport project, commenced operation of airport services.</p>

<p>On 9 April 2007 Bangkok Airways was honored to receive the Garuda Emblem, a royal warrant bestowed to companies that perform exceptional services to the nation. It is the Company&rsquo;s greatest pride and best motivation for the employees. On 27 February 2013, Bangkok Airways is listed in Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) and registered as &ldquo;Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited&rdquo; or &ldquo;BA&rdquo;.</p>

<p>บริษัท การบินกรุงเทพ จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ สายการบินบางกอกแอร์เวย์สก่อตั้งโดยนายแพทย์ปราเสริฐ ปราสาททองโอสถ ตั้งแต่ปี 2511 เริ่มจากการจัดตั้งเป็นแผนกการบินของ บริษัท กรุงเทพสหกล จำกัด ซึ่งมีนายแพทย์ปราเสริฐ ปราสาททองโอสถ เป็นเจ้าของ หลังจากนั้น ในปี 2527 จึงได้ก่อตั้ง บริษัท สหกลแอร์ จำกัด ขึ้น เพื่อรับโอนกิจการต่าง ๆ ซึ่งรวมถึงแผนกการบินจากบริษัท กรุงเทพสหกล จำกัด และในภายหลัง ได้เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น &ldquo;บริษัท การบินกรุงเทพ จำกัด&rdquo;</p>

<p>บริษัทฯ ได้เริ่มให้บริการเที่ยวบินแบบประจำอย่างเป็นทางการภายใต้ ชื่อปัจจุบันคือ &ldquo;สายการบินบางกอกแอร์เวย์ส&rdquo; นับตั้งแต่ปี 2529 เป็นต้นมา&nbsp; โดยวันที่ 20 มกราคม 2529 ได้ให้บริการเที่ยวบินแรก (เที่ยวบินปฐมฤกษ์) โดยการให้บริการเที่ยวบินแบบประจำในเส้นทาง กรุงเทพ-นครราชสีมา กรุงเทพ-สุรินทร์ และกรุงเทพ-กระบี่ ด้วยเครื่องบินแบบ BANDEIRANTE EMB-110 ขนาดความจุผู้โดยสาร 18 ที่นั่ง และในปี 2532 บริษัทฯ ได้สร้างสนามบินแห่งแรกที่เกาะสมุย ซึ่งในขณะนั้นเป็นช่วงเริ่มต้นของการพัฒนาเกาะสมุยให้เป็นแหล่งท่องเที่ยวนานาชาติ โดยบริษัทฯ ได้เริ่มดำเนินงานในสนามบินสมุย และได้รับอนุญาตให้ทำการบินในเส้นทางการบินแรกคือ กรุงเทพฯ-เกาะสมุย พร้อมกับได้รับรหัสการบิน &ldquo;PG&rdquo; จากสมาคมขนส่งทางอากาศระหว่างประเทศ หรือ IATA ต่อมาในปี 2535 &nbsp;ได้มีการนำเครื่องบินไอพ่น &ldquo;FOKKER &ndash;100&rdquo; ความจุผู้โดยสาร 107 ที่นั่ง เข้ามาบริการ ในปี 2537 ได้นำเครื่องบินแบบเอทีอาร์ 72 จำนวน 2 ลำ มาใช้ในฝูงบิน</p>

<p>ในปี 2541 บริษัทฯ ได้เริ่มดำเนินการในสนามบินแห่งที่สอง คือ สนามบินสุโขทัย และในปี 2543 ได้เริ่มนำเครื่องบินแบบ โบอิ้ง 717-200 มาใช้ในการดำเนินงาน&nbsp; พร้อมกันนี้บริษัทฯ เริ่มดำเนินงานในส่วนของโรงซ่อมอากาศยานที่สนามบินดอนเมืองและเข้าเป็นสมาชิกของ IATA Billing and Settlement Plan (BSP) ซึ่งทำให้บริษัทฯ เพิ่มฐานการขาย และยังสามารถรับชำระราคาบัตรโดยสารที่จำหน่ายผ่านผู้แทนจำหน่ายบัตรโดยสารที่ได้รับอนุญาตจาก IATA ผ่านระบบชำระเงินของธนาคารที่บริหารจัดการโดย IATA ได้จนกระทั่งในปี 2545 จึงได้เข้าเป็นสมาชิกสามัญของ IATA ซึ่งหมายถึงการเข้าสู่มาตรฐานความปลอดภัยในการบินพาณิชย์สากลนานาชาติภายใต้ IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) และในปี 2549 บริษัทฯ ได้เริ่มดำเนินกิจการสนามบินแห่งที่สามคือ สนามบินตราด</p>

<p>วันที่ 9 เมษายน 2550 บริษัทฯ ได้รับพระราชทาน หนังสือตราตั้ง (ตราครุฑ) ซึ่งถือเป็นความภาคภูมิใจและเป็นกำลังใจอันสูงสุดแก่พนักงานทุกคน และในวันที่ 27 กุมภาพันธ์ 2556 บริษัทฯ ได้ทำการจดทะเบียนเป็นบริษัท การบินกรุงเทพ จำกัด (มหาชน) เมื่อวันที่ 3 พฤศจิกายน 2557 บริษัท การบินกรุงเทพ จำกัด (มหาชน) หรือ BA เข้าจดทะเบียนในตลาดหลักทรัพย์แห่งประเทศไทย</p>

<h2>Airbus 320</h2>

<p>The 162-seater Airbus 320, assembled and delivered from its headquarters in Toulouse, France, provides the added passenger capacity to operate on both longer and dense routes. Its fly-by-wire control system makes it one of the most modern aircraft available.</p>

<p>With virtually the same fuel capacity as the A320, Airbus 319 features a 2-class configuration and operational flexibility that extends to 3,700 nautical miles (6,800 km) and longer for non-stop trans-Atlantic flights.</p>

<p>These new generation, ATR72-600&nbsp;are equipped with a new full-glass cockpit and feature a high comfort layout with larger overhead bins. The ATR 72-600&nbsp;are not only known for their reliability and technology but are also the top-selling turboprop aircraft on the market.</p>

<p>เครื่องบินโดยสาร 162 ที่นั่ง ประกอบและส่งตรงจากเมืองตูลูซ ประเทศฝรั่งเศส ภายในตัวเครื่องมีพื้นที่รองรับผู้โดยสาร เพิ่มความสะดวกสบายในเที่ยวบินยาว นอกจากนี้ยังขับเคลื่อนด้วยระบบควบคุมการบินแบบฟลาย-บาย-ไวร์ ทำให้กลายเป็นเครื่องบินโดยสารทันสมัยที่สุดรุ่นหนึ่ง</p>

<h2>เครื่องบินโดยสารไอพ่นรุ่นแอร์บัส เอ-319</h2>

<p>เครื่องบินรุ่นนี้มีความจุเชื้อเพลิงขนาดเดียวกับรุ่น เอ-320 แต่มีความแตกต่างตรงที่แอร์บัสรุ่นนี้ให้บริการใน 2 ระดับชั้นคือ ชั้นธุรกิจและชั้นประหยัด ซึ่งมีความยืดหยุ่นในการปฏิบัติการ ทำให้สามารถบินได้ไกลถึง 6800 กิโลเมตรหรือมากกว่าสำหรับเที่ยวบินยาวข้ามมหาสมุทรแอตแลนติก</p>

<p>เครื่องบินเอทีอาร์ รุ่นใหม่นี้ ประกอบไปด้วย ห้องนักบินที่มีความทันสมัย มีการแสดงผลเป็นระบบดิจิตัลทั้งหมด พร้อมกับที่นั่งที่กว้างขวางสะดวกสบาย และช่องใส่ของเหนือศีรษะที่มีขนาดใหญ่ขึ้นกว่าเดิม เครื่องบิน ATR72-600&nbsp;ได้รับความน่าเชื่อถืออย่างมาก ด้วยมีเทคโนโลยีที่ทันสมัย และเป็นเครื่องบินใบพัด (turboprop) ที่มียอดจำหน่ายสูงที่สุดในตลาดอีกด้วย</p>
