Bangkok 30 May 2023– Recently, Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited (PG) was granted “Airline Retailing Maturity” status as an Airline, under the ARM index Program.
This status recognizes that Bangkok Airways Public Co., Ltd uses Shop/Order/Setup capabilities which are compliant with the standard Enhanced and Simplified Distribution message schema, version 18.1 and the ARM index Capabilities Verification Guidance.
Commenting on the certification, Mr. Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, President of Bangkok Airways PLC, said: “Being the first airline in Thailand to attain the ARM Index certification is an important milestone for Bangkok Airways. In recent years, airline retailing has been one of the biggest disruptions in the industry, and Bangkok Airways is actively working on developing additional enhanced retailing capabilities for our NDC channel. In addition to that, Bangkok Airways’ strategy is geared towards our goal of becoming an Omni-channel airline, where customers have the choice of when and how they interact with the airline.”
About NDC (New Distribution Capability)
A new distribution capability (NDC) is a travel industry-supported program launched by IATA that allows airlines and travel agents to communicate more easily using an XML-based data transmission standard (NDC Standard.) Essentially, the NDC Certification Program aims to certify the scope and level of an entity’s NDC capability. Validation of Applicant’s NDC message is performed using the relevant version of the applicable NDC schema.
