As a result, the Company reported a net loss for 2021 at 8,599.8 million baht.

Mr. Puttipong Prasarttong-Osoth, President of Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited, commented that, "For the year 2021, the Company reported total revenues amounting to 5,668.5 million baht, decreased by 44.5 percent from 2020. The main loss factor is, of course the continuous effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, which forced us to temporarily suspend route operations from July to September 2021 in order to comply with the travel restriction orders. Nevertheless, in the same period, the government launched tourism-stimulus-programs called Phuket Sandbox and Samui Plus, which later led to Thailand’s re-opening project in November 2021. The downward trend of total revenue resulted from airline business decreasing by 78.7 percent, airport business decreasing by 75.7 percent, and airport-related businesses decreasing by 20.1 percent. However, the Company's overall expense in 2021 was at 8,145.1 million baht, decreased by 45.4 percent compared to the year 2020. In 2021, the Company carried 536,304 passengers, which fell by 71.5 percent compared to 2020. The load factor was reported at 58.6 percent.”

In 2021, the Company adjusted the operational flight plans as per travel restrictions and the total travel demand. To date, the Company operates 11 domestic routes which are: Bangkok-Samui, Bangkok-Phuket, Bangkok-Chiang Mai, Bangkok-Sukhothai, Bangkok-Lampang, Bangkok-Trat, Bangkok-Krabi, Phuket-Hat Yai, Phuket-Samui, U-Tapao-Phuket and U-Tapao-Samui. In addition to that, the Company also operates special flights between Bangkok–Samui, Samui–Phuket, and Samui-Singapore to support the country’s re-opening projects, which are dedicated to the Phuket Sandbox and Samui Plus. In the fourth quarter of 2021, the Company resumed another international service between Bangkok and Phnom Penh (Cambodia). All ground and flight operations are in line with the Company’s precautionary and transmission prevention plans regarding COVID-19 in order to reassure and ensure passenger health and safety.

For the U-Tapao International Aviation Co., Ltd. (UTA), the Company submitted the complete Master Plan to the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) for approval in June 2021. In addition, the Company successfully selected an international design architect (IDA) to design the new passenger terminal at U-Tapao International airport.
