Bangkok Airways introduces new in-flight menus “The best of Thai and ASEAN” cuisine

While supporting local communities and environmental concerns

Bangkok / 30 March 2017 - Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited today organized a press conference and presentation of its new in-flight menus under the concept, “The best of Thai and ASEAN cuisine.”  The airline’ new menus will be featuring six of the Thai renowned menus and the signature dishes of 10 ASEAN countries. The press conference is held at the Vanilla Room, Bangkok Air Catering, Suvarnabhumi Airport, and represented by M.L. Sirichalerm Svasti, In-Flight Services Consultant of Bangkok Airways, together with Ms. Aramsri Tassanasuwan, In-Flight services manager of Bangkok Airways and Mr. Amorn Rassamesangpetch, Director Corporate Communications of Bangkok Air Catering.

Ms. Aramsri Tassanasuwan, In-Flight services manager of Bangkok Airways said, “One of Bangkok Airways missions is to deliver the best of products and services to our passengers. Thus, we always make sure that everything we provide on board is at its highest quality, especially our in-flight meals. Most of our products used on board are environmental-friendly such as water cups, pens and napkins which can be recycled. Moreover, products that we use on board are either from a local community or a project that supports the welfare of local communities such as the macadamia nuts and coffee products from the Mae fah Luang foundation.  Juice products come from the Doi kham Royal project, UHT milk and milk candy products from the Chitralada Royal Project, liquid soap and lotion products from Khao Hin Son Royal Project and dried banana products from the Organic Agriculture Project, Sukhothai Airport. We also plan to serve organic vegetables from the Royal projects for our passengers in the very near future."

M.L. Sirichalerm Svasti a.k.a. Chef Mc Dang, Bangkok Airways Consultant of In-Flight Services said, "This year’s menu concept partly came from one of Bangkok Airways directives - which is to support government policies on Thai food promotions, and took its cue from the 4 Regions Thai Cuisine menu concept. To bring this concept into being this year, I, together with Bangkok Air Catering team, have designed and created a new menu concept emphasizing Thai cuisine. We will showcase 6 of the renowned Thai menus which are Phad Thai, Chicken Green Curry, Chicken Massaman Curry, Spicy Shrimp Soup (Tom Yum Koong), Chicken Coconut Soup (Tom Kha Gai) and Papaya Salad (Som Tum.) These menus will be available on all Bangkok Airways flights (Domestic and International) originating from Suvarnabhumi Airport and Samui Airport.”

M.L. Sirichalerm continues, “Furthermore, to welcome the official formation of ASEAN community, we have crafted some of the signature dishes from other ASEAN countries to serve our passengers on their national days such as a Shrimp noodles menu that will be served on the Singapore National Day, Nasi Uduk menu that will be served on the Indonesia National Day, Pho with Chicken Sausage that will be served on the Vietnam National Day and Amok (Steamed Fish with Curry Paste) menu that will be served on the Cambodia National Day. For passengers traveling from other airports, locally inspired menus such as Chicken Potato Masala with Balachaung (Burmese condiment) will be served on Yangon-Bangkok flight, Mutton Vindaloo (Tender lamb pieces cooked in goan-style style curry) and plain Paratha will be served on the Mumbai-Bangkok flight and Braised pork with preserved vegetable Szechuan in light soya sauce egg noodles with blanched choy sum menu will be served on Hong Kong-Samui flight to name a few.”

We believe that these new in-flight specialties, exclusively created for Bangkok Airways passengers will add to an even more memorable flying experience for everyone," M.L. Sirichalerm added.
