Koh Samui/ 19 June 2018 - Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited or Bangkok Airways led by Mrs.Chanthip Thongkanya, Vice President - Office of President in collaboration with Borussia Dortmund, Germany led by Mr. Roman Weidenfeller, former goalkeeper of Borussia Dortmund and former players of German National team and staff coach team, organize an exclusive football clinic for children at Samui Arena, Koh Samui.
Mrs.Chanthip Thongkanya, Vice President - Office of President of Bangkok Airways said, “Bangkok Airways sees the importance of developing and enhancing skills for children, especially in the aspects of education, quality of life and sports. This exclusive football clinic for children with Borussia Dortmund gives 50 children in Koh Samui an opportunity to develop football skills taught by former goalkeeper, Mr. Roman Weidenfeller along with Borussia Dortmund’s coaching team.”
Mrs.Chanthip further commented that “This activity is being held as a result of the recent partnership between the airline and Borussia Dortmund which is one of Europe's most successful football clubs with a strong fan base in Asia and the world. The cooperation includes a variety of advertising and promotional components of the co-branding campaigns in Southeast Asian countries, China, Hong Kong, India , Bangladesh as well as youth activities in Thailand.”
“The airline has been supporting local communities in numerous CSR projects in Samui especially, youth developmentprojects such as English Club with Bangkok Airways, Blue Volunteers Youth Camp and Junior Running Clinicas giving back to the community is a crucial part of our business roadmap.” Mrs. Chanthip Thongkanya added.
Mr. Roman Weidenfeller, former goalkeeper of Borussia Dortmund and former players of German national team expressed “I am very excited for my upcoming trip to Thailand which will be personally very special to me as I will visit one of Thailand’s most beautiful islands - Koh Samui for the first time. Also, I am looking forward to meeting Borussia Dortmund fans in Samui as well as teaming up with Borussia Dortmund’s Regional Partner – Bangkok Airways for a Friendly Match and a Youth Clinic with the locals.”
